SUPPORTING CHARITIES
London Marathon 2018 supporting Haven House Hospice
London Marathon 2018 supporting Haven House Hospice
Well it’s cold outside but with only 11 weeks until the London marathon it has already started to heat up for Stan and Paul with training in full swing!
Stan and Paul visited the Haven House Hospice last week the charity he and Paul are raising money for in this year’s London marathon. It is a local charity raising much needed money for children and young persons with life-limiting or life-threatening condition and their families, who live in our local communities. Stan wanted to share how the visit left him feeling and hope you will be able to show your generosity, as you have all done in the past – his comments are below.
“This week me and Paul went to Haven House to meet the others who will also be running and some of the fantastic staff. We were shown all around the place but there was one particular area that I just couldn’t get out of my head it was called ‘The Butterfly Suite’. This is where parents spend the final hours with their children. I couldn’t help ponder on how much pain, anguish and total heartbreak that had taken place in that room. When we left, I got in the car and I cried me eyes out ……..I couldn’t imagine what it’s like for the parents having to keep going back and forth, knowing full well what lies ahead for their children whose time is slowing running out… Just writing the past few words brings a tear in me eyes and a lump in my throat!
I am literally dreading the day of the marathon, Paul on the other hand is literally bouncing about like a kid waiting for a toy shop to open …..all I know is this incredible charity needs our help. PLEASE PLEASE help us meet our goal of £12,000.
I would feel like I had let the hospice, children and their parents down if we can’t raise this amount.
I promise that no matter what I won’t fail, I will complete the 26.2 miles…….. blimey it even sounds a long way just writing it down”.
Please see the picture of Stan and Paul on the fundraising page – http://www.havenhouse.org.uk/cshodgeslm2018 it certainly speaks volumes!!
We have already had an amazing start and raised £3,005 to date due to generosity of the Hodges operatives who kindly donated a day’s wages. This is an incredible start but as mentioned we require a further £9,000 to reach our target so please support us.
Thank you for your support!

At Hodges, we never forget how fortunate we are.
A big part of the Hodges culture is our caring attitude; not just to our clients and colleagues but to others less fortunate in our community.
We encourage and support all our staff to become involved in projects and fundraising events to help others. Our management team leads by example and over the past few years we have completed a number of sponsored events, raising money for a number of charities. The London Marathon, The London to Brighton Bike Ride, and The London to Cambridge Bike Ride are some of the events we have participated in.
During the 2013 New York Marathon, Stan Hodges raised over Four Thousand Pounds for MacMillan Cancer Support, and more recently, the 2016 London marathon saw Paul and Stan raise an incredible £12000.00 for the Motor Neuron Disease Association

We also actively raise funds for:

Stan and Paul enjoying the 2011 London Marathon.
